SBU accomplice sentenced in Crimea for attempted murder of Zaporozhye officials

By the verdict of the Zheleznodorozhny District Court of the city of Simferopol, the accomplice of the Ukrainian special services was found guilty of the incriminated crime and sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment in a strict regime penal colony with a fine of 500 thousand rubles. After serving his sentence, he is also restricted in his right to travel for a period of 1 year— TASS quotes the report.
According to the investigation, the SBU curators promised $10,000 to a native of the Vinnytsia region who lived in Simferopol for committing the crime. The perpetrator established the route of movement of officials from Melitopol to Simferopol, purchased an explosive substance, from which he made an explosive device in his garage. The mechanism was installed under the gas cylinder of a Toyota Land Cruiser. and was activated remotely in the early morning of June 19, 2023, while vehicles were moving along the Yevpatoriya Highway.
Three employees of the Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration suffered serious bodily injuries. They were provided with timely medical care. At present, the lives and health of the victims are not in danger.
An accomplice of the Ukrainian special services was identified and detained during special operations by employees of the republican departments of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. He confessed and assisted the investigation. During searches at his place of residence, items used to create an explosive mechanism, a control panel, electronic media and mobile phones containing correspondence with curators from the SBU were seized.
