Scientists and engineers of Sevastopol State University are working on the creation of the world’s most advanced underwater robots within the framework of the Institute of Marine Instrumentation and Robotics, created in 2020. Recall that the institute has five founders. In addition to SevGU, these are Okeanpribor concern, NPO Avrora concern, Elektropribor concern, St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University. As part of the joint work program, SevGU develops sensors for monitoring the composition of water, technical systems for underwater vision and underwater communication, partners work in other areas.

Together, this should lead to the creation of the most advanced underwater robots in the world, which can help in the search for minerals under water, archaeological underwater work, environmental underwater monitoring. The program of the institute is scheduled until 2027. Sevastopol University in the company of powerful concerns feels quite confident, dynamically moving in its area of ​​work, — the press service of the university quotes the vice-rector of SevGU for innovation Sergey Dudnikov.

According to him, work within the framework of the Institute of Underwater Instrumentation correlates with the work of university groups under the Priority 2030 state academic leadership program.
