Scientists of the Crimea within the framework of import substitution create grape seedlings for the farmers of the republic
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Andrey Savchuk, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea, announced that Crimean scientists are creating grape seedlings for the republic’s farmers as part of import substitution. In the laboratory of the innovative agricultural valley «Agropolis» KFU. VI Vernadsky grow 350 thousand cuttings.
One of our largest enterprises for which grape seedlings are grown is the Valery Zakharyin Group of Companies. For reproduction, Agropolis scientists introduced parts of young shoots of 11 elite autochthonous varieties of initial plants into in vitro culture, that is, they placed them in test tubes and began to select the optimal conditions for each variety so that the plant could grow freely. This process is incredibly complex and laborious. It is necessary to «pick up the key» for each variety. The whole team works in the laboratory: they control the process from reproduction to molecular diagnostics of plants. The task is planned to be completed within one and a half to two years.— the press service quotes the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Crimea.
The minister also said that after laboratory conditions, an equally difficult period of adaptation and growing of each plant begins. Farmers need to get a «standard seedling» that is fully adapted to field conditions and does not require special attention.
According to the head of the laboratory of plant micropropagation, KFU named after V.I. V. I. Vernadsky Lavr Kryukov, 1000 plants of the first such trial batch have already been planted to work out the entire technological process. Crimean scientists are planning to work on the production of rootstock varieties of grapes, medicinal plants and a new flower culture.
Our viticulture industry is developing dynamically. This is one of the most important agricultural areas in our republic. Farmers annually receive state support, including for the purchase of domestic seedlings for subsequent planting. For example, this year, based on the results of the selection process, 33 enterprises will receive more than 700 million rubles of subsidies in this area. The farmers plan to lay young vineyards on an area of more than 2,000 hectares. In addition, from 2020 to 2023 LLC Invest Plus, LLC DM Vitis, Federal State Budgetary Institution VNNIIViV Magarach RAS and KFH Shagov D.M. carried out the laying of mother liquors of rootstock vines on an area of more than 44 thousand hectares. These mother liquors have not entered into vine production yet, but from 2024 the gradual production of the Crimean high-quality rootstock will help solve the problem of import substitution of planting material,” the head of the Crimean Ministry of Agriculture notes.
Reference: There are three vaccination complexes in the Republic of Crimea: Invest Plus LLC with a production capacity of 2 million vaccinations per year, FGBUN VNNIIViV Magarach RAS with a production capacity of 250 thousand vaccinations per year, and Aria-N Farm Farm the complex requires reconstruction and the Institute «Agrotechnological Academy» KFU named after. IN AND. Vernadsky, which put into operation a vaccination complex with a production capacity of 1 million vaccinations per year.
