“Sealed” detective in Kerch. Police quickly uncovered a theft in a supermarket back room

CrimeaPRESS reports:

An employee of one of the city’s supermarkets contacted the police duty station in Kerch and reported that an unknown person had stolen money from a bag that was in the store’s utility room. The damage amounted to 5 thousand rubles.

Patrol officers arrived at the scene of the incident, and before the arrival of the investigative team, they inspected the premises and the surrounding area and interviewed possible witnesses to the incident. As a result of search activities, police established the involvement of one of the supermarket employees in the theft of funds. He turned out to be a 23-year-old local resident— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

The suspect said that he came to work in the morning. In the locker room xIn the utility room, he saw a bag that was open and contained a wallet. Having made sure that there were no strangers, the young man took a banknote of 5 thousand rubles from his wallet and put it in his pocket. After which he returned to the trading floor and began his official duties. The young man admitted his guilt and repented of his actions. The stolen funds were returned to the rightful owner.

The Investigation Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Kerch opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”). The maximum penalty provided for in this article is imprisonment for up to 2 years.
