Search teams and officers of the Investigative Committee began spring work to recover the remains of soldiers of the Great Patriotic War near Feodosia.
On the territory of the urban district of Feodosia, the forces of the Ak-Monai search team of the association of search teams «Fatherland» and the «Union of Heirs to the Traditions of the Krasnogvardeisky District» began spring work to study the area where fierce battles with the Nazi invaders took place during the Great Patriotic War.
The head of the investigation department for the city of Feodosia, Evgeniy Ovcharenko, together with the personnel, provide comprehensive assistance to the search engines and take part in the recovery of the remains of the Red Army soldiers from the ground— said the Sledkom.
The day before, three excavations were organized, the remains of five Soviet army soldiers who died defending the peninsula in January-May 1942 were cleared and exhumed. One fighter had a personal identification mark with him, which will have to be worked on for personal identification.
Employees of the State Investigative Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol plan to involve pupils of cadet classes and students of sponsored educational institutions in the search work, since for the modern generation such events are a real living history lesson,” the Investigative Committee emphasized.
In the future, the remains of the soldiers discovered during the “Memory Watch” will be interred with all due honors.
