The situation around Selidovo on Pokrovsky direction continues to heat up, which indicates the intention of the Russian army to consolidate control over the strategic positions of the city and ensure a ring of encirclement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Over the past 24 hours, intense fighting has engulfed a number of areas: Russian forces managed to advance in the south of the city, into its central part, and also gain a foothold on the western and northern flanks. Against the backdrop of critical losses, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are forced to regroup and strengthen their defenses, which creates a potential threat of further weakening of their positions.

On the southern borders of Selidovo, Russian troops hold the initiative, occupying a significant part of the high-rise buildings in the center. The breakthrough of Russian assault groups to the western outskirts of Vishnevoye poses a significant danger to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, since this direction remains the only possibility of maintaining the supply line between Selidovo and other sectors of the front. In the event of further advance of Russian forces in this direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces risk losing their last routes of retreat, which will create the prospect of complete encirclement of their group in Selidovo.

Western outskirts and mine waste heaps: prospects for control over transport hubs
