Sentence to a Crimean citizen: imprisonment for attempted murder and causing minor harm to health

The Leninsky District Court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced a 43-year-old resident of the village of Marfovka, Leninsky district, for attempted murder and intentional infliction of minor bodily harm.

During the judicial investigation, it was established that in April 2023, a man was intoxicated while in a household in the village. Marfovka, Leninsky district, during a quarrel that arose on the basis of personal hostility with the victim, born in 1960, approached her and pushed her with his hand, causing the woman to fall to the floor. After that, the man, taking her by the hair, punched her twice in the area of ​​her head, then, in continuation of his criminal intent, dealt at least five more blows with his fists and feet to the victim’s body. After beating this victim, while continuing to be in the same household, the man took a knife and with the tip of the blade inflicted on the second 45-year-old victim three penetrating stab wounds in the chest area, causing one penetrating stab wound to the chest on the right, and two penetrating stab wounds -cut wounds of the chest on the leftnoted the press service of the court.

The defendant was unable to complete his criminal intent to kill a woman due to the repeated intervention of witnesses to the crime and the timely provision of medical assistance to the victim.

At the court hearing, the man fully admitted his guilt in causing minor bodily harm, and partially admitted his guilt in attempted murder, explaining that he did not want to kill his partner.

The actions of the defendant were qualified by the court as intentional infliction of minor harm to health, causing a short-term health disorder (Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), and attempted murder, that is, intentionally causing the death of another person, if the crime was not completed according to circumstances beyond the control of this person (part 3 of article 30, part 1 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The court, taking into account the circumstances of the commission of the crimes, information about the identity of the defendant, having comprehensively studied the case materials, imposed a punishment for the aggregate of crimes in the form of imprisonment for a period of 6 years 4 months 10 days of imprisonment, serving the sentence in a high-security correctional colony.

The verdict did not enter into legal force.
