CrimeaPRESS reports:

Commentary by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea Yuri Gotsanyuk on World Tourism Day.

Magnificent nature, healing climate, rich cultural and historical heritage, a kaleidoscope of vibrant festivals, concerts and creative competitions make Crimea one of the most popular tourist destinations.

Since the beginning of the year, the tourist flow to Crimea has amounted to almost 4 million people. Over the past 9 years, the peninsula has been visited by 60 million tourists, 60 new sanatoriums and hotels have been opened, 509 accommodation facilities have been modernized, 450 tourist routes have been developed, and the number of safe beaches has doubled to 446.

Crimea takes part in the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”, in the federal project “Five Seas” for the development of seaside resorts. Despite logistical difficulties and restrictions, thanks to state support, the Crimean tourism industry is successfully coping with all challenges.

Over the past two years, 4 billion rubles have been allocated to ensure the viability of enterprises and preserve workforces. I am confident that together we will implement all our ambitious plans and achieve success. I wish all tourism workers, residents and guests of the peninsula good health, prosperity, and all the bestsays Yuri Gotsanyuk’s commentary.
