At that time, mass persecution of followers of the Christian faith was quite often organized, and therefore these events directly influenced the life of Efimiya. One day, the ruler of the city ordered all residents to gather for a holiday dedicated to the god Mars. However, at the same time, the local Christian community carried out its ministry, for which all its members were arrested. All Christians were presented to the emperor, who was to judge them. And only Efimiya was left in the city by the ruler, because he tried to seduce her. However, the girl rejected all advances, as a result of which he subjected Efimiya to various tortures, but she remained unharmed. Efimiya was thrown to wild animals, which did not touch her, and only the bear subsequently wounded Efimiya, who immediately died after hearing a voice from the sky calling her to herself. At the same time, an earthquake occurred in the city, which destroyed all the pagan temples.
