Sergei Aksenov's term of office ends this year, but he is ready to continue working as the Head of Crimea

The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, whose term of office expires in 2024, allowed him to continue working in his post if supported by President Vladimir Putin and the population of the region.
If there is trust from the President and the Crimeans, then we need to continue working. If not, you need to leave. This is the main thing. I don’t hold on to the chair and never have.Aksyonov said in an interview TASS.
Aksyonov was elected head of the Republic of Crimea by the State Council of the Republic of Crimea in September 2019. Then his candidacy, submitted by the President to the regional parliament, received unanimous support. According to the Crimean constitution, the head of the Republic is the highest official and head of the executive branch. He is elected for a term of five years, but no more than twice, and determines the main directions of development of the region.
Sergei Aksyonov was born in 1972 in the city of Beltsy, Moldavian SSR. During the Russian Spring on the peninsula, on February 27, 2014, by decision of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, he was appointed to the post of Chairman of the Council of Ministers. In March 2014, he was among the signatories of the interstate agreement on the admission of the peninsula to Russia and the formation of new entities within it.
