The head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, held a meeting with a military expert, former US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter. During the meeting, a number of issues on the international and regional agenda were discussed, including the life of Crimeans after reunification with Russia and interethnic relations in the Republic.
Sergey Aksyonov thanked Scott Ritter for his strong position and objective coverage of events taking place in the world:
Today there is a demand for truth in the world, and we appreciate that there are those who are not afraid to speak about the true state of affairs. It is thanks to such caring people that the world moves forward, and citizens of different countries maintain respect for each other, regardless of where they live and what language they speak.
Scott Ritter, in turn, confirmed that he sees his task as telling the truth about Russia.
My task, like the task of any patriotic American, is to tell the government about the mistakes that American politicians make in relation to Russia. Russia is a self-confident country, and this needs to be conveyed to American societynoted the military expert.
According to Sergei Aksenov, guests of Crimea, thanks to informal meetings with Crimeans, will be able to independently verify that the multinational people of the Republic are as united today as they were during the days of the Crimean referendum.
