Sergei Aksyonov: “Under the motto “Ready for work and defense,” our people won victories”

The Head of the Republic of Crimea awarded the members of the team of the Republic of Crimea who won the final of the IV All-Russian festival of GTO champions “GTO Games”. Sergey Aksyonov expressed gratitude to the Crimean athletes and their coaches for their high results, as well as for the example they set for all Crimeans.
Sport educates and disciplines, builds character, teaches you to overcome difficulties and achieve your goals. These qualities are necessary for people of all ages and professions. Under the motto “Ready for work and defense,” our people won many victories. I am confident that the number of Crimeans involved in physical education and who have passed the GTO standards will continue to grow– says the Head of Crimea.
The head of the republic also noted the importance of further popularization and development of all sports.
The authorities will make all necessary efforts to achieve this. I thank our athletes for representing Crimea with dignity at competitions of various levelssaid the Head of Crimea.
In their response, the athletes thanked Sergei Aksenov for his support and the opportunity to represent the republic at a large-scale festival where the best of the best gathered. In addition to the overall victory, members of the Crimean team managed to set two records. Teacher MBOU «Voskhodnenskaya school named after V.I. Krivorotova» Elena Yuzhakova and the president of the regional Federation of Functional All-Arounds, crossfit coach Edem Ametov took first places in their types of competitions, setting records.
Sergey Aksyonov presented the athletes with well-deserved awards: Gratitude from the Head of the Republic of Crimea, Distinctive insignia “Watches from the Head of the Republic of Crimea”.
The head of the republic also supported the initiative to hold the “Going for a Record” festival in Crimea on the occasion of Athlete’s Day, which is celebrated in Russia in August.
REFERENCE. The final of the IV All-Russian festival of GTO champions “GTO Games” was held in Sochi from April 19 to 21 and was timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the revival of the GTO complex in modern Russia. Teams from 38 regions of the country competed to reach the finals, participating in 5 types of races: running relay, power relay, pairs race, shuttle relay and GTO Classic Race.
