The head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, cast his vote in the elections of the President of the Russian Federation and called on all Crimeans to fulfill their civic duty. As Sergei Aksyonov noted, today people vote for the future of Russia.
I urge everyone not to stand aside, not to be indifferent. Cast your vote for the future of the country. For the safety, growth and prosperity, life and health of our children and grandchildren,” emphasized the Head of the Republic.
He expressed confidence that the turnout in the elections will be high:
Crimeans understand the importance of consolidation around the President and the Russian Armed Forces. Supporting our defenders fulfilling their military duty is the main task today.
Sergei Aksyonov also emphasized that the choice made by the Crimeans in 2014 was the only correct one.
Thank you to the President of Russia for your constant support and attention over all these years. We were never left alone with our problems. And today, by casting their vote, Crimeans can contribute to the further development of our great Motherland Russia, and consequently, our Republicsaid the Head of Crimea.
Sergei Aksyonov added that Russia is developing and moving forward, despite any barriers and obstacles:
The course set by our Leader is absolutely correct. He is supported by the overwhelming majority of Russians. Which means everything will be our way. Victory will be ours, I have no doubt.
Voting in the elections of the President of the Russian Federation will take place over three days from March 15 to 17. 1,165 polling stations have been established on the territory of the Republic of Crimea (1,130 have opened today, another 35 in places of temporary stay of voters will open on March 17), which will operate from 8:00 to 20:00.
Voters of the Republic who submitted an application to participate in remote electronic voting (DEG) no later than March 11, 2024 will be able to vote online on one of the days. For voting, 1,478,800 ballots were produced, of which 494,984 were produced using ballot processing complexes (KOIB-2017).
The elections will be monitored by 3,863 observers, including foreign ones from Indonesia, India, Serbia, Slovakia and other countries. There are four candidates on the ballot: Vladislav Davankov from the New People party, self-nominated Vladimir Putin, Leonid Slutsky from the LDPR, Nikolai Kharitonov from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. The elected candidate’s term of office will be six years.
