Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov took part in the event dedicated to the 9th anniversary of the formation of the Khalzan special rapid reaction unit.
He congratulated the fighters on the holiday — the Day of the formation of the Khalzan SOBR — and noted that the unit’s employees worthily serve for the good of the country.
SOBR fighters always demonstrate the highest training and combat capability, show courage and steadfastness. Impeccably perform all assigned tasks, even the most difficult, protecting the peace of the Crimeans. For their part, the authorities of the republic will continue to provide comprehensive support to the Khalzan unit. I wish you to always return home, where they are waiting for you after completing the tasks. There is nothing more valuable than this. Thank you for your service. We are proud of you— said the Head of the Crimea.
During the event, Sergey Aksyonov laid flowers at the monument to the fallen soldiers of the Berkut special forces, and also presented well-deserved state awards.
The event was attended by the head of the Main Directorate of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol Stepan Gaydarzhisky and assistant to the Head of the Republic of Crimea Yuri Abisov, who was the commander of the Berkut riot police unit from 2006 to 2014.
