Sergey Aksyonov: “During the war, members of the Crimean underground destroyed many military trains and enemy equipment”

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Commentary by the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov in connection with the Day of Partisans and Underground Workers.

You can meet armed young men and women, old people in a variety of costumes everywhere. Each of them has a German or domestic machine gun on their shoulders, a knife and grenades in their belts. These are Crimean partisans, famous for their daring raids on the enemy, — wrote the newspaper «Red Star» on April 20, 1944.

Today, on the Day of Partisans and Underground Fighters, we remember all those who fought back the enemies in the rear, helped liberate their native land. Our heroic fellow countrymen, people of different nationalities. They carried out combat operations and propaganda, carried out sabotage, saved their fellow citizens and helped the Red Army.

The partisan and underground movement in Crimea during the occupation acted very effectively, despite punitive actions, hunger and cold. During the war, about 30 thousand Nazis, dozens of military trains and thousands of units of equipment were destroyed.

Eternal glory to all who fought Nazism and brought the Great Victory closer! Your feat is immortal! – says the commentary of the Head of Crimea.
