Sergey Aksyonov supported the initiative to name educational institutions and public areas after outstanding Crimeans
CrimeaPRESS reports:
It is important that the work is done simply and quickly, and that the databases and storage facilities are constantly replenished and expanded. The issue of improving material and technical equipment must be taken under control. The leadership of the State Committee for Archives of the Republic of Crimea needs to identify the most pressing problematic issues and prepare appropriate proposals for providing archives with the missing equipment— the Head of the Republic set the task.
During the event, participants also paid attention to the issue of naming educational institutions and public spaces after outstanding Crimeans. As Sergey Aksyonov noted, in the modern history of Crimea there are many worthy compatriots.
One of the urgent tasks facing the committee is dictated by modernity, the current historical moment. I believe that streets, squares, and schools can and should be named in honor of outstanding Crimeans — thus perpetuating their memory. It is by the example of the life of honored citizens that our youth should be educated. Therefore, it is important to preserve documents and evidence about their lives and deeds in collections and exhibitions. The relevant departments need to study this issue and think through the necessary measures– notes the Head of Crimea.
In addition, Sergei Aksyonov gave instructions to continue supporting the archival industry of the historical regions of Russia, to provide methodological and other necessary assistance.
In turn, the Chairman of the State Committee for Archives of the Republic of Crimea Oleg Lobov spoke about the current activities of the archival industry in the republic and priority tasks. Thus, in addition to directly working with citizens’ requests for work history or property issues, the committee, together with the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, is currently recording the data of participants in a special military operation. As Oleg Lobov emphasized, it is important not to lose and preserve information about compatriots.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea Mikhail Nazarov and representatives of relevant departments.
