Comment by the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov in connection with the International Day of Older Persons.

Today is International Day of Older Persons. Respect for elders is a sign of a morally healthy society, one of the main traditional values ​​of all the peoples of our country. This is written in the holy books of different religions.

“To the old is wisdom, and to those who are long, understanding,” says the Bible (Job 12:12).

Elderly people have invaluable life experience behind them, decades of dedicated work for the good of the Motherland. Their life path is an example of strength and resilience, an example of the best human qualities.

The older generation needs our support. It is the duty of each of us to surround our dear elderly with attention and care.

Elderly People’s Day is a good reason to once again say the kindest and warmest words to our parents, grandparents, veterans, senior colleagues and acquaintances, to express our gratitude and appreciation to them.
