Sergey Aksyonov: “Today we remember those who saved the world from the brown plague”
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On June 22, 1941, Nazi Germany attacked the Soviet Union. In Crimea, events were held dedicated to the Day of Memory and Sorrow — the day the Great Patriotic War began. The head of Crimea laid flowers at the Eternal Flame memorial at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the park named after Yu.A. Gagarin in Simferopol.
A minute of silence was declared in memory of those killed during the Great Patriotic War. According to Sergei Aksenov, the date of June 22 resonates with pain in the hearts of all residents of Crimea and Russia:
Today we remember those who saved the world from the brown plague. Who did not live to see Victory. We mourn the millions of victims of Nazi genocide. Among them are many thousands of Crimeans,” notes the Head of the Republic. “These days, on the fields of a special military operation, our soldiers again have to fight Nazism, prevent the desecration of the graves of our glorious ancestors, and prevent the bombing of peaceful cities. But, as in 1945, the enemy will be defeated. Victory will be ours!
