In the capital of Tatarstan, Kazan, on July 20-24, the Russian Championship in track and field athletics among juniors and juniors under 20 years old was held at the Central Stadium on July 20-24.

Candidate master of sports Sergei Kharitonov from Sak (coaches — Yuri Kharitonov and Mikhail Levin) won a silver medal in the hammer throw (64.70 m). The winner in this type of program was Dmitry Cherny from the Stavropol Territory (68.06 m).
