Servicemen of Sevastopol were awarded state awards
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Today, the residents of Sevastopol celebrated two holidays at once — Defender of the Fatherland Day and People’s Will Day.
Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev, chairman of the Legislative Assembly Vladimir Nemtsev, representatives of law enforcement and federal agencies, the command of the Black Sea Fleet, social activists, veterans, law enforcement officers, deputies of the Legislative Assembly and members of the Government in the morning laid flowers at the Eternal Flame at the Memorial to the Heroic Defenders of Sevastopol in 1941-1942 wreaths and flowers in memory of the heroes who defended their Motherland.
From the bottom of my heart I would like to congratulate all Sevastopol residents on the People’s Will Day. On February 23, 2014, the Russian Spring began in Sevastopol. This was the beginning of big events. These events will lead to the complete collapse of the Nazi regime in Ukraine and the reunification of the Russian world. And today we address special words to our defenders who are on the front line performing the tasks of a special military operation. Perform feats, unfortunately, sometimes at the cost of their own lives. We will do everything to speed up the Victory. We will remember our defenders: new streets and squares, institutions will be named after the heroes of the SVO— Mikhail Razvozhaev addressed the people of Sevastopol.
After that, during the city solemn meeting — a concert dedicated to the Defender of the Fatherland Day, Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev and Commander of the Black Sea Fleet Viktor Sokolov presented state awards.
11 Sevastopol servicemen were awarded the Order of Courage, the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree, the medal for courage, the Suvorov medal, and the Zhukov medal.
This year, as our President said, Defender of the Fatherland Day takes on a special meaning when our soldiers perform the tasks of a special military operation every day, risking their lives for the sake of our Motherland, the expression “defender of the Fatherland” sounds special. In Sevastopol, it always sounds special. Even today, when we are at a solemn meeting, our valiant warriors, air defense forces, our Black Sea Fleet guard our peace. So that ukrorezhim does not even try to spoil this holiday. Thanks for your service— Mikhail Razvozhaev thanked.
Servicemen of the air defense division were awarded certificates of honor from the Government of Sevastopol and the Governor’s Gratitude, letters of thanks were also presented to employees of the units of the Russian Guard in Sevastopol and the National Guard of the Russian Federation.
