Sevastopol and Thies agreed on economic and cultural cooperation
CrimeaPRESS reports:
During today’s meeting, the heads of the cities signed an agreement on economic and cultural cooperation. Within the framework of this agreement, it is planned to establish mutual trade turnover between the regions.
The development of international cooperation is increasingly important for Sevastopol. We are ready to provide assistance and support to promising projects and are open to mutually beneficial cooperation. I am confident that the main result of the visit will be warm friendly relations for joint work and development of our cities, – the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the governor.
The meeting participants discussed the development of Sevastopol and Thiès. Members of the African delegation said that an ambulance substation is currently being commissioned in Thiès, a new park is being developed, and a swimming pool is being built. In this regard, Mikhail Razvozhaev instructed the heads of relevant Sevastopol departments to introduce the guests to the implementation of similar projects in our city, especially those related to the improvement of public spaces. The head of the city focused on projects that are being implemented on behalf of the president: «New Khersones», a cultural cluster and a yacht marina in Balaklava.
The parties also agreed to prepare educational programs for schoolchildren, thanks to which Sevastopol children will be able to learn about the history of Thiès, and Senegalese schoolchildren will be able to learn about the history of the Hero City.
This visit was an important step in establishing global cooperation. I consider the results of this visit to be the most important for our city. We managed to discuss the details of cooperation in various areas. This includes the economy, healthcare, and culture.— emphasizes the mayor of Thiès.
Babacar Diop said that one of the main squares of Thiès is planned to be named in honor of Sevastopol — as a sign of friendship between the cities.
