Sevastopol at the «Defenders of the Fatherland Cup» will be presented by veterans of their

Two veterans of their Alexander Naumov and Oleg Dzgoyev will be presented to Sevastopol at the «Defenders of the Fatherland Cup.» Competitions will be held from March 12 to March 18 in Khanty-Mansiysk. More than 300 veterans of 60 regions of Russia will take part in them.

Alexander Naumov was declared in two disciplines: skiing and biathlon, and Oleg Dzgoyev in the discipline of skiing.

Athletes are trained three times a week in the gym of the Sports and Health Complex named after the 200th anniversary of Sevastopol under the guidance of the trainer-teacher of the sports and adaptive school-the Center «Invasport» Alexander Popov.

In the absence of snow, the guys are preparing for competitions in the gym. We work for endurance and aerobics,-quoted the press service of the Government of Sevastopol, the trainer-teacher of the sports and adaptive school-the Center «Invasport» Alexander Popov.

Last year, five athletes, a powerlifting coach and two accompanying people were sent to participate in the inter-regional complex physical education event “Cup of Defenders of the Fatherland” among veterans of their southern and North Caucasian federal districts in Stavropol.

Last year, we signed an agreement with the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation for joint work with participants in a special military operation and members of their families. There are already successes of this work. Our veterans and participants in a special military operation in 2024 successfully performed at interregional and all-Russian competitions showing a high result— notes the head of the sports department Sergey Reznichenko.

The participants took prizes and brought the “gold” and two “silver” — Alexander Naumov took “gold” in powerlifting and “silver” in archery, and Alexey won “silver” in bullet shooting. Later in November, Alexei Propes was sent to Sirius and accompanying to participate in the All -Russian final.

Recall that the sports department is provided with certain benefits on a daily basis to the participants of their own and members of their families:

— reception of children of participants in sports institutions at gratuitous basis out of turn;

— benefits for paid services provided by the sport (50% of the cost);
