Sevastopol athletes have four medals at the BRICS Games in Kazan

Master of Sports of International Class Elena Gapeshina, notes «Crimean sport», became the winner of the women’s boxing competition. Pupil Ruslana Davidenko had no equal in the weight category up to 75 kg. In the final fight, Elena Gapeshina defeated Aziza Zokirova from Uzbekistan by unanimous decision (5:0).
Master of Sports of Russia Alexander Shalimov (coaches Vyacheslav Amelin, Artur Vartanyan and Vladimir Shchelkanov) took silver in the judo tournament. The Sevastopol resident confidently reached the final of the over 100 kg category, in which, unfortunately, he lost to the Brazilian Martins Lima (he managed to perform a painful hold).
Honored Master of Sports of Russia, kayaker Anastasia Dolgova (coaches Vadim and Irina Nikitenko) won a silver award in the 200 m double kayak race (paired with Svetlana Chernigovskaya from the Volgograd region). The Belarusian duo Olga Khudenko and Marina Litvinchuk celebrated the victory at this distance.
As previously reported, international master of sports Rafael Yunusov (coaches: Vitaly Levadny, Sergey Maryin and Alexander Bezruchkin) won silver in competitions of classic wrestlers in weight up to 82 kg.
Let us remind you that the Crimean athletes have two gold medals. Their owners were Simferopol wrestlers — international masters of sports Anzor Zakuev (freestyle wrestling, up to 74 kg, coaches — Arsen Zakuev, Ignat Grek and Edem Muratov) and Emin Sefershaev (Greco-Roman wrestling, up to 60 kg, coach – Sergey Popenkov).
The program of the V BRICS Games included competitions in 27 sports. Almost three thousand athletes from 53 countries competed for medals. The Russian team won the most awards — 502 (162 gold, 141 silver and 99 bronze).
