Sevastopol athletes have seven medals at the Russian Sailing Championships in Sochi

The competition was attended by boys and girls under 17 and 19 years old, juniors and junior women under 21 and 24 years old — in total more than 160 yachtsmen from 12 regions of the Russian Federation.
In conditions of gusty and very changeable winds, the organizers managed to hold 8 races in dinghies and 11 in sailboards.
Sevastopol residents won 7 medals at the championship, reports Sports training center for national teams of Sevastopol.
Among juniors under 21, Ivan Kovbasyuk excelled on the IQF sailing board.
In the same class, but already among boys under 19 years old, Dmitry Nesterenko won gold.
The sailboard races brought several more awards to Sevastopol residents. In the competitions for athletes under 19 years old, Ekaterina Kovaleva (girls) and Gennady Nesterenko (boys) won silver, Milana Eremina (girls) won bronze. Among boys under 17 years old, Alexander Bogachev became third.
Among juniors under 21 in the Laser-Radial class, Elizaveta Chekhlataya took bronze. For the student of the Sevastopol branch of CSKA, this class is new, since before that she performed in Laser 4.7.
Let us note that the competition had the status of qualifying for Russian national teams of different ages.
