Sevastopol discuss the development of science and the support of young scientists

At the Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas named after A.O. The Kovalevsky RAS HEAD a meeting with representatives of the scientific community, higher educational institutions and schools of Sevastopol on the popularization of science among children and youth, support for young scientists and the development of science in the city.

One of the important aspects of the popularization of science among schoolchildren is the activity of the Kurchatov classes. For the first time they appeared in Sevastopol schools in 2021. According to the results of this school year, 22 such classes function in 7 schools. Since the new academic year, the project includes the Sevastopol Polytechnic Lyceum. The purpose of the relevant classes is to form a holistic natural-scientific vision of the structure of the world, stimulate them to scientific activity, -quotes the press service of the Government of Sevastopol, director of the Department of Education and Science Maxim Krivonos.

The draft criteria for the selection of candidates for a scholarship for young scientists and graduate students who carry out promising scientific research and development in Sevastopol was also discussed. The scholarships will receive 30 young scientists in the amount of 50 thousand monthly from September to August on behalf of the governor Mikhail Razvozhaev.

At a meeting with the young scientists of Sevastopol, the chairman of the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the scientific and educational fields of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Science and Education Nikita Marchenkov spoke about federal projects and support measures.

After visiting the laboratories of the Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas, I saw a very large number of young people, entire youth laboratories. These are youth with burning eyes, who thinks about how to make their breakthrough research in the best way where to target their thoughts, what scientific articles to publish, with whom else you can cooperate, it is really impressive— said Nikita Marchenkov.

Recall that Russian President Vladimir Putin announced from 2022 to 2031 a decade of science and technology in Russia to attract young people in science and involving researchers in solving important state problems.
