Sevastopol Governor: Promises given to residents must be fulfilled on time

At a staff meeting of the Sevastopol government chaired by Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev, citizens’ requests recorded by the Regional Control Center were discussed. One of them concerned a public transport stop near the monument to the artillerymen of the 134th howitzer regiment. Specialists from the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure had previously promised to fulfill the request of local residents to equip a stop. For now, people have to walk several kilometers to the Mekenzievy Gory station.

In the work plans, this was, indeed, for 2024. At the same time, some priorities have shifted: it is necessary to install stops on Fiolentovskoye Highway, — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the department, Stanislav Tamataev.

Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev emphasized that promises made to residents must be fulfilled on time:

You promised people a stop, and then you tell them that your priorities have shifted. But these are not our strategic plans — these are, on the contrary, the simplest things that people need. If you promised, you need to do it within the timeframes that you named.

The meeting also discussed a question received from the mother of an 18-year-old student with disabilities who is studying at the College of Information Technology and Industry.

The woman says that the college refuses to provide free two-meal meals a day, citing «some government regulation.» I don’t understand how specialists can refer to «some government regulation.» That is, they don’t know and don’t have a grasp of the regulatory framework? Make them give qualified answers— said the head of the city.

Director of the Department of Education and Science Maksim Krivonos noted that the issue is already being worked on.

The situation arose because the child’s status changed: he was a disabled child, and upon reaching 18 years of age he became a disabled person of a certain group. Now we are making adjustments to the resolution, and from September 1 all children with a change of certificate will be provided with food, — the head of the department explained.

The changes will affect 35 people who are in this situation, added Maksim Krivonos.
