Sevastopol guides pass certification

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Sevastopol guides and guide-interpreters, who passed certification, were presented with identification cards today. The first exam was held in October — it was successfully passed by six specialists.

The first group of Sevastopol guides will now conduct excursion activities in accordance with federal standards. I congratulate our specialists, they showed a worthy level of specialized knowledge and skills and fairly passed accreditation , — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the tourism department Larisa Ostapenko.

Also in Sevastopol, the second exam was held as part of the mandatory certification of guides and guide-interpreters. The specialists passed two stages of the test: within the theoretical framework they answered the test questions, within the practical framework they presented a part of the excursion to one of the proposed locations of Sevastopol or the Crimean Peninsula, depending on the subject where the guide wants to work.

Guides were evaluated by members of the regional attestation commission, which included representatives of government and business from Sevastopol and Crimea.

Another meeting of the commission is planned to be held before the end of this year. In the future, the commission will meet as applications are received in accordance with the approved procedure. In total, it is planned to certify more than 700 guides in Sevastopol, which, of course, will contribute to the improvement of the skills of tourism industry workers , — says the deputy chairman of the certification commission Olga Chauzova.

A separate block within the framework of free advanced training courses is devoted to the peculiarities of passing the mandatory certification of guides and guide-interpreters. The training also ended today.

This year, a 11-hour program was prepared, which took place from 1 to 05 November. The course program was formed taking into account the wishes of the guides of the city of Sevastopol and is aimed at obtaining, updating and consolidating practical knowledge and skills to improve the quality of the excursion services provided. As a result of passing the courses, students will receive a certificate of advanced training of the established form , — emphasizes Larisa Ostapenko.

Tour guides and guide-interpreters can be certified to work both in Sevastopol and in the Crimea. To do this, you must submit a package of documents to the tourism department in advance and sign up for the exam.
