Athletes from eight regions that make up the Southern Federal District gathered in Sevastopol this weekend. In the Hero City on March 4 and 5, the pankration championship and championship are held. This is an ancient Olympic martial art revived in the second half of the last century.
Pankration is always spectacular and bright! I am sure that Sevastopol athletes will show a high level of training and bring a scattering of medals of various denominations to the assets of our city.— said the head of the department for youth and sports, Sergei Reznichenko.
The number of participants in the competition exceeded two hundred. Fights are held in the sports complex «Musson».
Pankration is a full contact sport. All disciplines are held in full contact. The only thing is that the affected areas are limited, that is, hits to the head are prohibited in the traditional pankration, almost everything is allowed in the classic— said the President of the Wrestling Federation of Sevastopol Alexei Zadniprovsky.
The winners and prize-winners of the pankration competition in Sevastopol will go to the Russian Championship in St. Petersburg and the national championship in Ufa in April.
