Sevastopol is the leader in the collection of waste paper as part of the #BoomBattle campaign

CrimeaPRESS reports:

During the first decade of the All-Russian campaign for the collection of waste paper #BumBattle, its participants collected more than 80 tons of recyclables. This made it possible to save more than 1 500 trees or about hectares of forest, saving more than 1.6 million liters of water and prevent the release of more than 130 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The leader was the Sevastopol school No. 22 named after N. A. Ostryakov — students collected 5.8 tons of waste paper.

Keeping the environment clean, working together, strong friendships — this is what makes our life better. We try to instill eco-habits in our students from a very young age, so for many years we have been collecting recyclable materials, including waste paper, but for the first year we participate in #BoomBattle. Leadership in the first week of the action among educational institutions is a great pride for us, this became possible thanks to the collective participation of children, their parents and school staff. We have a large school — more than 1 800 students, and we will continue to fight for the championship in this competition , — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the teacher-organizer of secondary school No. 22 Marina Dudka.

As part of the #BoomBattle promotion from to 17 September educational organizations, companies and individual participants handed over and took out waste paper already in 17 regions. Kindergartens, schools, secondary specialized and higher educational institutions collected 75, 6 tons of recyclable materials, residents at waste paper collection points — another 4.5 tons.

The most productive in the first ten days of the action were the educational institutions of Sevastopol, Kursk, Penza, Moscow and Rostov regions, Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Crimea. So, 2.7 tons is the result of students and employees of gymnasium No. 4 of the Kursk region, more than 2.6 tons of waste paper was handed over at secondary school No. 225 in the city of Zarechny, Penza region.
