Evgeny Valentinovich Pashkov, adviser to the rectorate on academic work, doctor of technical sciences, professor of the department «Instrument systems and automation of technological processes» of the Polytechnic Institute, from April 2008 to December 2014 — rector of SevNTU, passed away.
Pashkov Evgeny Valentinovich was born on September 29, 1944 in the city of Karabanovo, Vladimir Region. In 1967 he graduated from the Sevastopol Instrument-Making Institute with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Metal-cutting Machine Tools and Tools and, on the recommendation of the SEC, entered full-time graduate school. He combined postgraduate studies with work as an assistant at the Department of Automation and Integrated Mechanization. After graduating from graduate school in 1970, he continued to work as an assistant to the above department. In January 1971, at the Volgograd Polytechnic Institute, he successfully defended his dissertation for the degree of candidate of technical sciences in the specialty «Automation of technological processes» on the topic «Research of mechanized technology for processing precision thin-walled cylindrical parts.» In February of the same year, he was promoted to the position of senior lecturer. From December 1971 to September 1978 he worked as an assistant professor. In December 1974, he was approved with the academic rank of associate professor.
IN 1973-1974 years he studied at the ten-month French language courses at the Kiev State University. T. Shevchenko. After graduation, he worked in Algeria for three years, teaching at the Annabinsk University. Fluent in French. In September 1978, he was elected by competition to the post of head of the Department of Automation and Integrated Mechanization, worked in this position for ten years. In 1989, he was elected the released secretary of the party committee of the Institute. He combined work in the party committee with work at the institute as an assistant professor. In 1990, he was appointed to the position of vice-rector for scientific work, and in 1992, by decision of the Academic Council of the Institute, Evgeny Valentinovich Pashkov was awarded the academic title of professor. In 1997, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis in the specialty «Automation of technological processes» on the topic «Theoretical foundations and synthesis of systems for automated vibrolevitation turning of thin-walled cylindrical parts», in March 1998, the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine awarded Pashkov E. V. the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences. In 1999, he was appointed First Vice-Rector, and on January 11, 2008, Acting Rector of the Sevastopol National Technical University. From April 2008 to December 2014 — Rector of SevNTU, and from January 2015 to the present — Advisor to the Administration of Sevastopol State University.
Yevgeny Valentinovich devoted a lot of energy to the training of highly qualified personnel.
Pashkov E. V. is the author of more than 330 scientific papers, including a monograph, textbooks with the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science, publications in the most authoritative scientific journals and collections, as well as 142 copyright certificates and patents in Russia and Ukraine. Repeatedly traveled abroad at the request of the heads of foreign firms and educational institutions to exchange experience and organize joint work in the field of education and science. For several years he was elected a member of the scientific and methodological council of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine on technical cybernetics and robotics, led the scientific and technical council of the university.
The main scientific interests of Evgeny Valentinovich were the automation of technological processes of processing and assembly; robotics; mechatronics; engineering biomechanics.
Pashkov E.V. was engaged in social, educational and scientific activities, being a member of the dissertation council D900.007.01 at Sevastopol State University in the specialties — 05.02.08-Technology of mechanical engineering and 05.02.07-Technology and equipment of mechanical and physical and technical processing; member of the university strategic development committee; member of the editorial board of the scientific and technical journal SevGU «Automation and measurements in machine and instrument making»; chief researcher (part-time) of the research laboratory of the SevGU «Experimental life support systems for biological objects»; Professor of the Department «Instrument Systems and Automation of Technological Processes» (concurrently); adviser at the rector’s office for educational work; and also a member of the Academic Council of SevGU.
Pashkov Evgeny Valentinovich was a mentor for young scientists who came to work at SevGU after graduating from higher educational institutions.
For conscientious work, high professionalism, significant contribution to the upbringing of the younger generation of the city of Sevastopol, Pashkov Evgeniy Valentinovich was awarded the Gratitude of the Governor of the city of Sevastopol.
