Sevastopol: new public gardens in the Kachinsky municipal district

Every year, Sevastopol residents, like residents of other regions of Russia, choose for themselves which parks and public spaces will be landscaped next year. The following areas of Kachin Municipality are participating in this year’s voting:

• territory on Aviatorov Street in the village of Kacha — a park near DOF;
• territory along the Kachinskoe highway in the village of Orlovka.

The head of the Kachinsky municipal district, Nikolai Gerasim, spoke about the importance of these public spaces for residents of the district and plans for their transformation:

In recent years, our district has been developing rapidly: a kindergarten has recently opened in Kach, a new sports and recreation complex, a new boiler room are operating, this year the school will be overhauled, a beautiful House of Culture has opened in Vishnevoe after a major overhaul, sewerage treatment facilities are operating in Orlovka , launched at the end of 2022, roads are being actively repaired in villages. We are also creating new public spaces. This year, two territories are participating in the voting on the “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment” project. Local residents have been waiting for a long time for the improvement of the space on Aviator Street in Kutch. It participated in the vote last year, 66 people chose it, but this was not enough. We are waiting for even more votes this year so that next year we can enjoy the beautiful landscaped square. I am sure it will be popular among the Kachin people and guests of the village. Near this territory there is the park “At the Mass Grave”, landscaped in 2019, as well as iconic objects — the House of Officers and many monuments. A major renovation of this space will allow the complex transformation of the territory to be completed. The second contender for victory and transformation is the public space along the Kachinskoye Highway in Orlovka. Now this territory is not at all pleasing to the eye when you are nearby or driving past on the highway. Here we plan to install tiled coverings, lighting, and we want to do some landscaping on the area. Of course, we will also listen to all the residents’ suggestions and be sure to include them in the improvement project. I urge all residents of our Kachin district — vote, choose a park, take an active part in the life of the city and country!

In 2021, a major renovation of the park named after Polina Osipenko was carried out in the Kachinsky municipal district. It has become a real attraction for the villagers — here, according to the project, recreation areas, paths were built, a universal football and basketball court was created, exercise equipment, a children’s play complex, and chess and tennis tables were installed. The site was also equipped with external lighting and a video surveillance system, bins, benches, drip irrigation equipment, and a fence around the perimeter of the territory were installed. Landscaping has been completed — 700 trees, shrubs and other elements have been planted.

In 2023, the park of the 100th anniversary of Kacha in the village of Kacha was landscaped. This is a transit zone, which is located next to the bus station. The area of ​​public space is almost 4,000 square meters. m. After the renovation, new benches and pergolas with swings, shade canopies, and a children’s playground with a labyrinth appeared here. Modern lighting and surveillance cameras were installed in the park, decorative figures were placed on the lawns and hydroseeding was carried out. The highlight of the park is a dry fountain, which is planned to be launched in the spring.

This year, in the Kachinsky municipal district, the territory in the area of ​​​​the House of Culture in the village of Vishnevoye will be cleaned up. The cultural center opened at the end of last year after a major renovation, but the space around it is still in poor condition. It is planned to install tiled coverings, lighting, landscaping of the area, installation of small architectural forms, as well as installation of landscaping elements proposed by residents.
