Sevastopol: Northern Military District veterans took part in ceremonial events dedicated to Victory Day

When the war started, I was 14 years old. At 18 I was called to the front, where I became the commander of a machine gun detachment,” the veteran shares his memories.

Akim Nikolaevich was presented with gifts from the branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation in Sevastopol, and also thanked for his contribution to the Victory and wished him good health, warmth and comfort, optimism and attention of loved ones.

After meeting with the hero, Alexey Sachko, together with his comrades with the call signs “Sailor”, “Dagger” and other participants in the special operation, as well as employees of the Sevastopol branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, took part in a ceremony on Sapun Mountain. Participants of the event gathered to pay tribute to the soldiers who liberated Sevastopol and to honor the memory of the fallen heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

The head of the branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, Elena Anisimova, noted that our contemporaries — the heroes of the special operation — continue and repeat the exploits of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers.

No matter how many years and decades pass, we will return again and again to the Great Victory — it marked the triumph of life over death and humanity over barbarism. We thank the veterans of the Great Patriotic War for the fact that, without sparing their lives, they stood up to defend the Fatherland, justice, freedom and happiness for future generations.
