Sevastopol: On Cape Khrustalny created an archaeological park

The new archaeological park has become part of the cultural and historical cluster under construction on Cape Khrustalny. This was announced on the social network by Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev.
The park is located terrace, not far from the now -completed Sevastopol art gallery. The project was implemented by the company «Argo».
The decision to create a park was made after a large -scale archaeological excavations before the construction of the cluster. Then archaeologists discovered fragments of ancient objects, as well as the remains of the construction of the XIX century. Including the so-called Fort Menshikov on the 7th bastion. Among other archaeological finds — a section of the retaining wall, part of the mast barn, the section of the stairs and apsids of the Temple of John the Warrior, etc.
On an area of 1.5 hectares, many military, domestic, spiritual, trade and household artifacts were found. After discovery, they were mothballed and preserved.
Builders added benches with awnings and swings to the objects of the show, as well as special architectural backlight, which will emphasize the architectural forms of the gallery and illuminate the paths for walking in the park.
They promise to report the time of opening the new archaeological park later.
The decision to preserve and museumification at the place of the remains of the temple of John the Warrior was adopted and announced in the summer of 2022.
Then, on the website of the Severovy, an act of state examinations was published on the preservation of the Fort Menshikov cultural heritage object with the system of intra-complex objects as part of the work on the construction of museum and theatrical and educational complexes at Cape Khrustalny.
