The Sevastopol Paralympic boccia team (a ball game for people with limited mobility) returned from the anniversary, 15th Russian Championship, where they took first place in the 3×3 team performance.
The current Russian championship was held in the city of Aleksin in the Tula region, at the regional training base «Oka».
Sevastopolskaya Gazeta talked with one of the members of the Sevastopol team, Denis Trifonov, who also fulfilled the master of sports standard at these competitions.
This was a team stage, with two teams of three players each. I performed as part of the Sevastopol troika. We managed to beat our main rivals, the titled Moscow team, which includes international masters of sports, in the final with a score of 5:2– shared D. Trifonov.
According to him, he himself has been involved in this Paralympic sport for nine years, and has achieved serious personal success. So, last year D. Trifonov became the silver medalist of the Russian Championship, the bronze medalist of the Russian Cup, and the winner of the all-Russian tournament “We are together, sport!” In 2022, the athlete also became a medalist at the Russian Championship in the individual competition.
Boccia gives self-confidence, fosters determination, it is skill, agility, dexterity, physical fitness, endurance, self-confidence,” the athlete answered the question about the content of his favorite sport.

After participating in such serious competitions, the guys went on a well-deserved vacation. True, not for long. Soon they will begin training, with the prospect of participating in the Russian Cup, which starts in the same Aleksin on October 2.
