The Russian military displays courage, bravery and heroism every day when performing combat missions in the zone of a special military operation. Last week, visitors to the “Russia” exhibition at VDNKh in Moscow had the opportunity to meet the heroes of our time.

At the stand of the Russian Ministry of Labor “Family. Job. Longevity» a meeting was held with military personnel who participated in the special operation: Lieutenant Colonel Valery Tursunov and Sergeant of the Assault Brigade Anton with the call sign Picasso.

I have been serving in the army for about 20 years. I even joke that I became a volunteer a long time ago, back in 2004, when I entered a military institute. After completing his studies, he served in the internal troops (since 2016 — the national guard troops). My military unit was stationed in Crimea, mainly together with the police, before the Northern Military District, they were engaged in maintaining public order, but with the start of the special operation, the tasks changed somewhat— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the man.

Valery notes that in the Northern Military District zone he was the chief of staff of a military unit. They carried out tasks in the Kherson direction clearly and harmoniously. Was in the NWO zone from the first days until September 2022.

I decided to take part in the special operation, following in my brother’s footsteps. Having started my military service, four months later I took the oath and asked the commander if it was possible to sign a contract. Having received permission and signed a contract in 2021, I went to Palmyra (Syria) to complete tasks. Having returned, after some time I learned that my brother had signed a contract and left for the Northern Military District zone, where, unfortunately, he died. Then I decided to continue the work he started. We grew up together, together we dreamed of becoming soldiers. I could not do otherwise, and after his death I went to the Northern Military Districtnotes Anton.

In the special operation zone, the young man performed tasks in the Zaporozhye and Lugansk directions, in Artyomovsk and Bakhmut as part of an assault brigade.

Sevastopol men also selflessly stand up to defend the interests of their country. In 2023, 1,357 contracts were concluded at the selection point for military service under contract.

For men who serve under a contract, a payment is provided at the federal level in accordance with the Presidential Decree in the amount of 195 thousand rubles. At the regional level, the governor provides for a payment of 200 thousand and four hundred square meters of land for everyone who will take part in the SVO,” said Tatyana Kharlanova, deputy head of the selection point for military service under a contract in Sevastopol.

Let us remind you that military personnel are provided with about 15 federal and regional benefits and guarantees, including those received by participants in the special operation: official housing or compensation for rental housing, life and health insurance, credit and tax holidays, additional benefits and guarantees of constituent entities of the Russian Federation and others.
