A traffic accident involving a pedestrian occurred in the evening, at an unregulated pedestrian crossing at 5 km of the Sevastopol — Inkerman highway.
On October 12, at 19:00, a 58-year-old driver of a Mercedes Benz hit a 71-year-old woman who was crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. As a result of the accident, a 71-year-old woman died at the scene from her injuries. The state of intoxication of the driver of the foreign car has not been established. An investigation into a traffic accident involving a deceased pedestrian is being carried out, based on the results of which a procedural decision will be made.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds that in accordance with clause 14.1 of the Russian Traffic Regulations, the driver of a vehicle approaching an unregulated pedestrian crossing is obliged to give way to pedestrians crossing the road or entering the roadway (tram tracks) to make the crossing.
