Over the past day, the police of Sevastopol received two appeals from citizens who suffered from this scheme of distance fraudsters. The total amount of damage is more than 92 thousand rubles.

The first victim of deception was the 37-year-old manager of the construction project, who wanted to purchase a towbar for his car. The man was looking for the necessary part for the car on a popular trading platform on the Internet, stumbled upon an “interesting” option, contacted the seller. Further, the discussion of all the details took place in one of the messengers, after which the victim transferred more than 48 thousand rubles to an unknown account specified by the interlocutor.

The second victim is a 75-year-old pensioner. Sevastopolets on the same trading platform was looking for announcements for renting a garage premises. He found a “good” option and phoned the seller, after which he transferred about 44 thousand rubles to unknown accounts with three transactions.

In both cases, after receiving the money, the «sellers» stopped communication and disappeared, and the men, realizing the fraud, turned to the police.

It should also be remembered that the proposal to buy an expensive thing at a low price, as well as the requirement to make an advance payment immediately for a large amount should be suspicious.
