Sevastopol police summed up the results of the first stage of the anti-drug operation «Poppy — 2024»

The event was attended by employees of the Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol, drug control departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city’s districts, as well as other police services and units.
The purpose of the operation is to prevent, identify, suppress and solve crimes and offenses in the sphere of illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs of natural origin, to identify and eliminate illegal crops and foci of growth of wild narcotic plants.
As a result of raids on the facts of illegal cultivation of narcotic plants, three protocols on administrative offenses under Article 10.5.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation were drawn up, the cultivation of 52 bushes of the plant of the genus «Hemp» was stopped. The police also drew up 4 administrative protocols under Article 6.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation and 11 administrative protocols under Article 6.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
During the operation, police officers solved 15 crimes in the sphere of illegal drug trafficking, including cases of storage, attempted illegal sale and sale of plant-based and synthetic drugs.
As part of the first stage of the operational and preventive measure “Poppy – 2024”, police officers seized about 700 grams of narcotics from illegal circulation.
From August 20 to 29 of this year, drug control officers plan to conduct the second stage of the interdepartmental comprehensive operational and preventive operation “Poppy – 2024”.
