Sevastopol: representatives of preferential categories of citizens can receive free legal assistance

In Sevastopol, representatives of privileged categories of citizens can take advantage of free legal assistance. The Department of Labor and Social Protection entered into an agreement with the Sevastopol Bar Association to provide free legal services to the population. The chief specialist-expert of the department of legal support and work with citizens’ appeals, Olga Dulyanitskaya, spoke about this.

The following are entitled to free legal assistance:

• citizens whose average per capita family income is below the subsistence level;
• disabled people of groups I, II, III;
• participants of the special operation and members of their families, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Heroes of the Russian Federation, Heroes of the Soviet Union, Heroes of Socialist Labor, Heroes of Labor of the Russian Federation;
• disabled children, orphans, children without parental care, persons from among orphans and children without parental care, as well as their legal representatives;
• elderly citizens and disabled people living in social service organizations that provide social services in a stationary form;
• citizens declared incompetent by the court, as well as their legal representatives;
• citizens affected by the emergency;
• minors held in institutions for the prevention of neglect, and other categories;
• residents of besieged Sevastopol and other preferential categories established by law.

In particular, free legal assistance is provided on issues related to the right of ownership of residential premises, the right of ownership of the land plot on which the house is located, on issues of social hiring, consumer protection in terms of utilities, social and pension security– shared Olga Dulyanitskaya.

Department specialists not only provide legal assistance themselves, but also issue referrals for free legal assistance to a qualified lawyer if the issues are not within the competence of social protection.

In addition, the department’s lawyers regularly conduct on-site consultations for residents of rural areas.
