Sevastopol residents arrange credit holidays

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The experts note that credit holidays remain an effective measure to support borrowers who have encountered difficulties in servicing their debt. For six months (as of July 1, 2023) banks restructured residents of the city 260 loans for 99 million rubles, including 7 mortgage loans in the amount of 28 million rubles.

According to the law on credit holidays, a person can receive a deferment if income decreases by more than 30% compared to the previous year. It is also necessary that the loan be received before March 1, 2022, and the amount of debt cannot exceed the limits established by the Government of the Russian Federation (from 100 thousand rubles for credit cards and up to 3 million rubles for mortgages).

If the borrower does not fall under the law, he can ask the lender for restructuring under his own program. Credit organizations, as a rule, meet the needs of borrowers who find themselves in a difficult financial situation: they change the terms and procedure for repaying debts. In 40% of cases, banks revised credit conditions for residents of Sevastopol precisely according to their own programs.

In July 2023, a law was passed that introduces a permanent holiday mechanism for consumer loans. It is planned that its norms will come into force on January 1, 2024. The document assumes that two categories of borrowers will be able to suspend payments on a loan or loan: those who are faced with a decrease in income by more than 30% and those affected by an emergency. It will be possible to go on a credit vacation once for each contract.

According to the law, information about the absence of loan payments that he did not make during the mortgage and credit holidays is excluded from the information part of the client’s credit history. For the borrower, this means that the restructuring will not have a negative impact on his credit history.— quotes the press service of the manager of the Sevastopol Branch of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bezhan.
