CrimeaPRESS reports:
As of January 1, 2024, funds of residents of Sevastopol in bank accounts (excluding funds in escrow accounts) made up 62 billion rubles. This is 1.4 times more than a year earlier. Sevastopol residents keep almost all their money in banks in rubles (99%).
The interest of Sevastopol residents in deposits has grown, including against the backdrop of an increase in the key rate. After the Central Bank of the Russian Federation moved to tighten monetary policy in July 2023, commercial banks increased interest on deposits, that is, their profitability increased, — quotes the press service of the manager of the Sevastopol Branch of the Southern Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia, Mikhail Bezhan. — At the same time, the main advantage of a bank deposit is reliability, since deposits are insured by the state in the amount of up to 1.4 million rubles, and income is guaranteed.
Deposits of legal entities in Sevastopol as of January 1, 2024 reached 4.5 billion rubles. This is more than twice or 2.3 billion rubles higher than the data for the same date last year. 10.7 billion rubles were placed on the accounts of organizations (+0.3 billion rubles compared to 01/01/2023), and the volume of funds of individual entrepreneurs amounted to 5.7 billion rubles (+1.7 billion rubles).
