Sevastopol residents were presented with a talk-film screening «Our world without terror»

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The branch library No. 6 of the regional information and library system hosted a thematic event dedicated to the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism. Employees of the fire station No. 6 of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the city of Sevastopol and pupils of the Ecotech + school took an active part in the conversation.

It is terrible to remember the events of that day. A terrible and inhuman crime was committed, for which there is no justification or forgiveness. Terrorism is the most cruel phenomenon of our time, and we are all united in our firm intention to resist it! — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the department of culture Angela Sumakova.

The memorial date was established in 2005 by the federal law «On the Days of Military Glory of Russia» and is associated with the tragic events of September 1–3, 2004 in the city of Beslan, North Ossetia, when militants seized the building of city school No. 1. Then 334 people became victims of the tragedy, 186 of them are children, as well as two employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, who were shot by terrorists while performing official tasks.

Library No. 6 recalled not only the tragedy in Beslan, but also dozens of other terrorist acts that took place on the territory of Russia and Europe. Pain in the hearts of hundreds of thousands of caring people responded to «Nord-Ost», the terrorist attacks in Moscow, Volgograd, Minsk, Paris, Germany, Brussels, Turkey. The film “We want to live in peace” told schoolchildren about these events.

Oksana Domanskaya, head of the Center for Family Reading and Leisure, emphasized in her speech that we must remember the lessons of history and know that we need a world without terror. A minute of silence was declared in memory of those who died during local wars and terrorist attacks.

An employee of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the city of Sevastopol, the head of the guard of fire station No. 6, senior lieutenant Maxim Zhdanov spoke about the difficult and dangerous work of Sevastopol firefighters, gave statistics on fires in the region, the number of victims, dwelled in detail on the correct behavior of schoolchildren in the event of a fire in the training institution, at home, on the street.
