Sevastopol sentenced the group members who was engaged in illegal banking activities

Agreeing with the position of the state prosecutor of the prosecutor’s office of the city of Sevastopol, the court issued a conviction in a criminal case against five local residents of 1958, 1977, 1982 and 1990

They are found guilty in paragraphs. “A”, “B” of Part 2 of Art. 172 of the Criminal Code (illegal banking by an organized group, with the extraction of income on an especially large scale). It was established that one of the accused created an organized group to receive income with the help of an illegal calculation cash desk. He attracted nine more participants to the group, including two relatives. In the period from January 2016 to October 2018, attackers registered eight shell companies and opened offices in Sevastopol. In them, legal entities from Sevastopol, Moscow and Crimea were proposed to cash out cash under the guise of paying for goods and services or under other prepositions. The profit of the organized group was 11 % of the amount of financial transactions. At the same time, the license to carry out banking activities issued in the manner prescribed by law, these persons did not have,-the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Sevastopol said.

The criminal activity was stopped by the employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and the internal affairs bodies. The investigation was conducted by the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol.

The Leninsky District Court of the city of Sevastopol, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, the role and degree of participation of each perpetrator, appointed them imprisonment for terms of 1 to 4 years with a probationary period of 2 or 3 years. Also, according to the court sentence, they are required to pay fines totaling 3.35 million rubles.

The arrest imposed during the investigation on funds and cars of the accused was left unchanged.

Earlier, the same district court was sentenced to another accomplice. Criminal cases against other members of the organized group are allocated into separate proceedings.
