Sevastopol sentenced to calls for extremist activities on the Internet

Agreeing with the position of the state prosecutor of the prosecutor’s office of the Gagarinsky district of Sevastopol, the court issued a conviction in a criminal case against a 30-year-old local resident.
He is found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for extremist activities committed using the Internet).
It was established that in September 2024, commenting on messages in the information telegram channel, the man published calls for violent actions in relation to groups of persons allocated on the grounds of nationality and territory of origin.
Employees of the CPE of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol revealed this criminal activity. The investigation was carried out by the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
The Gagarinsky District Court of Sevastopol, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the guilty punishment in the form of 2.5 years in prison. A man is also deprived of the right to administer sites, channels, pages, chats on the Internet for 2.5 years. In addition, the court confiscated the convicted person with a mobile phone, with the help of which he published extremist statements.
The verdict did not enter into legal force.
