Sevastopol: situation with electricity supply

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On Tuesday, July 16, due to a failure in the operation of generating equipment at the Rostov Nuclear Power Plant in southern Russia, temporary power consumption restriction schedules were introduced. Residents of Krasnodar Krai, Rostov Oblast, the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol were partially left without power. On the night of July 16-17, full power supply was provided by the Rostov Nuclear Power Plant, which allowed the power supply to be fully restored in the city.

In order to prevent more serious consequences associated with the restriction of power supply to the south of Russia, the Black Sea Operational Dispatch Directorate in the electric power industry presented and approved schedules for disconnecting consumers. Including in Sevastopol, restrictions on the power supply to consumers were introduced. By 1 a.m., the power supply was fully restored. This morning, the Black Sea Operational Dispatch Directorate in the electric power industry again introduced restrictions in the amount of two megawatts of consumption, which is much less than it was before the failure. Previously, the restriction for the city was 30/40 megawatts— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the acting deputy press service of the Government of Sevastopol Evgeny Gorlov.

At the moment, social facilities, individual and multi-apartment buildings, as well as garden associations are connected to the power supply. The social facilities were not affected by the problem with electricity, they all worked in the normal mode. This was the main task of the approved schedule for limiting the power supply.

Currently, restrictions on electricity capacity continue to operate in the city. In this regard, a decision has been made: to turn off the lights in shopping centers and other large enterprises one by one, when necessary, thereby freeing up the capacity needed to ensure normal power supply to the city, namely, residents in individual and multi-apartment residential buildings, gardening associations. Information on current outages is posted on the governor’s official page. Social facilities were not affected by the electricity problem; they all worked in normal mode. This was the main objective of the approved schedule for limiting power supply— said Evgeny Gorlov.

He also noted that it will take about two more days for the electricity supply to be stable and in normal mode:

According to the grid organization and the Rostov NPP, it will take about two more days to achieve a stable supply. For now, electricity consumption in the city will be lower than previous volumes in order to stabilize the operation of the Rostov NPP. The main reason is the failures at the Rostov NPP, which provides generation to the south of Russia. On the evening of July 16, due to the power outage, there was also a technical failure in the gas equipment — there was no gas in 38 houses in the city. At the moment, work to restore the gas supply is ongoing. «The gas distribution organization promptly began work, the accident was eliminated. Yesterday evening there were 38 houses that did not receive gas. Today by 14:30 it was launched in 22 houses. At the moment, the work continues together with the management companies and residents of the houses, — notes the acting deputy governor.

Evgeny Gorlov also emphasized that in connection with the current situation, fraudsters may increase their activities. If representatives of a gas organization knock on your door, it is imperative to check their ID.
