Sevastopol social workers are trained at the “School of Nursing”
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In order to implement the regional project “Older Generation” of the national project “Demography”, the “School of Nursing” continues to operate in the Sevastopol city integrated social service center. The project started in 2020 and is necessary to create a long-term care system for elderly citizens and disabled people in need of care. Lesson on the topic “Organizing a safe space. Prevention of falls” was conducted by Anna Malenko, a representative of the Medical Information and Analytical Center.
The lesson examined factors that contribute to falls and a set of measures aimed at preventing such situations. The attention of the listeners was focused on the need to observe basic rules: avoid elderly people going out alone in icy conditions, twilight, fog or snow, – the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the doctor.
Anna Malenko also told how elderly people can move around the apartment and arrange furniture correctly.
There is no need to explain that treating the consequences of a fall is financially and energy-consuming for both the patient and his family. In addition, a person has to experience mental trauma, regain confidence in his physical strength, and overcome the fear of repeated falls.says the specialist.
A supportive, age-friendly environment will provide them with a fulfilling life. The knowledge and skills acquired at the School of Nursing will allow relatives to create comfortable living conditions for people with limited mobility.
