Sevastopol State Traffic Inspectorate Sums Up the Results of the «Night City» Raid

The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate officers conducted a preventive raid «Night City» aimed at stabilizing the accident situation, ensuring public order on the streets and in other places of mass gatherings of people, and preventing and solving crimes.

For the most effective work on prevention and suppression of violations related to driving vehicles by drivers in a state of intoxication, a distribution of forces and means was developed. Based on the analysis of accidents and places where drunk drivers may appear, 7 routes were identified, on which 36 employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate units are involved.

During the raid, traffic police officers drew up 24 administrative reports. Four drivers refused to undergo a medical examination, for which they face a fine of 30 thousand rubles and deprivation of the right to drive for a period of one and a half to two years. Three drivers violated Part 1 of Article 12.16 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, administrative reports were drawn up against them for failure to comply with the requirements of road signs or road markings prohibiting the stopping or parking of vehicles. A fine of 1,500 rubles and detention of the vehicle are provided for this violation.

In addition, three drivers who do not have the right to drive a vehicle were brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Article 12.7 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. This violation entails the imposition of an administrative fine in the amount of five thousand to fifteen thousand rubles.

The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate reminds, that driving a car while intoxicated is subject to administrative liability under Article 12.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, which entails the imposition of an administrative fine in the amount of 30 thousand rubles with deprivation of the right to drive a car for a period of 1.5 to 2 years. Repeated commission of a similar offense provides for criminal liability under Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
