Sevastopol swimmers returned with medals from the Russian Cup
CrimeaPRESS reports:
At the final start of the “Russian Cup” swimming season, which took place in Ramenskoye near Moscow, Sevastopol sports athletes won three medals of different denominations. As I told you «Sevastopol newspaper» coach of the Center for Adaptive Sports «Invasport» of Sevastopol Irina Mashchenko, Andrey Granichka won the gold medal in the 100-meter breaststroke, Karina Boldyreva won the silver medal in the 50-meter backstroke, and Vladimir Mozul won the bronze medal in the 400-meter freestyle.
According to I. Mashchenko, despite the presence of significant awards, Sevastopol residents had much higher expectations, which were partly adjusted by the damp weather in Ramenskoye.
Currently, the youth team of Sevastopol (up to 19 years old inclusive) has arrived in Ramenskoye, which will take part in the Russian championship. The competition started on November 8
Ten athletes will compete from the Sevastopol Invasport Center, and we really hope that they will show good results. For some, this will be their first start, for others they have already competed in competitions of this level — said the honored coach.
According to her, senior athletes are now entering a period of active rest, which will be combined with the training process.
We will train, work on technique, taking into account the fact that next year has been declared a Paralympic year. It is still unknown whether we will go to the Paralympics, which will take place in France next summer, but we will still prepare, – said I. Mashchenko.
If Russian Paralympians are not allowed to participate in international competitions, they will take part in alternative ones, which will certainly be organized.
