Sevastopol tax officials spoke about tax benefits for SVO participants and their family members

At the branch of the State Fund for Support of Participants in the special military operation “Defenders of the Fatherland” in the city of Sevastopol, a meeting of representatives of the Federal Tax Service of Russia for the city of Sevastopol with the social coordinators of the organization took place.

The speaker noted that for these categories, one piece of real estate of each type is exempt from paying property tax for individuals: apartments, rooms, residential buildings, garages (car spaces).
He emphasized that combat veterans enjoy benefits proactively, while the rest preferential categories must annually submit an application accompanied by documents confirming their preferential status and indicating the period of military service.
Andrei Khabarov also recalled that for combat veterans there is a benefit to reduce the tax base for land tax by the cadastral value of 600 square meters of the area of one land plot. In addition, this category of taxpayers is completely exempt from paying transport tax for cars with a capacity of up to 150 horsepower, however, this benefit will be applied when calculating transport tax for 2024, since the law came into force on January 1, 2024.
The speaker clarified that during the period of service for mobilized persons, there is an extension of the deadlines for payment of transport and land taxes, and property tax for individuals.
Chief State Tax Inspector of the Department of Public Services Elena Maslova told listeners about the functionality of the Internet service of the Federal Tax Service of Russia “Taxpayer’s personal account for individuals”.
