Sevastopol Tax Service: Taxi Passenger Safety Directly Depends on the Legal Status of the Carrier
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On July 25, 2024, employees of the operational control department of the Federal Tax Service of Russia for the city of Sevastopol, together with the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol, conducted a joint raid to prevent road accidents and identify violations, as well as cases of illegal entrepreneurial activity in the field of passenger transportation without registration.
During the raid, cases of provision of passenger transportation services by road transport by persons not registered as business entities were revealed. Protocols on administrative offences were drawn up against these persons. The materials will be sent to the judicial authorities for consideration of the issue of bringing to responsibility for the offence provided for in Part 1 of Article 14.1 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offences. Five cases of failure to formalise employment contracts with hired workers actually admitted to the provision of passenger transportation services by light transport were also revealed.
It should be noted that trips on illegal taxis can result in serious problems for passengers in the event of controversial situations or incidents. At the same time, a legal carrier provides services on a professional basis and is interested in providing quality service to the passenger in order to attract new clients. All information about the legal carrier is available to the government services that control and regulate this activity, which in turn allows the passenger to file a claim against the carrier and receive compensation in the event of a violation of his rights or poor service.— the press service of the Federal Tax Service of Russia in Sevastopol notes.
In addition, the legalization of informal employment in the passenger transportation sector will bring illegal taxi drivers out of the shadows, which will have a positive impact on budget revenues.
